ผิวแพ้ง่าย ผื่นแพ้ รักษาหายได้ คือ ลักษณะอาการทางผิวหนัง เป็นผื่นแดง หรือเป็นมันเห็นขอบชัดเจนโดยที่ด้านบนจะมีสะเก็ดแห้ง ๆ เป็นขุนสีขาวเหลือง ซึ่งมักหลุดลอกออกอยู่บ่อย ๆ บริเวณที่มักพบอาการมี 3 บริเวณ คือ
- บริเวณหน้า ข้างจมูก ระหว่างคิ้ว หลังหู หรือมีสะเก็ดในหู คอ อาจมีอาการอักเสบทีตา
- บริเวณเหนือกระดูกซี่โครง หลังตอนบน และหน้าอก รักแร้ ถ้าเป็นที่บริเวณหนังศีรษะ เรียกว่า รังแค (Dandruff)
- ในวัยทารกมักพบในบริเวณขาหนีบ ใต้อก และสะดือ
ผู้ที่เป็น Seborrheic dermatitis อาจมีการผลิตน้ำมันซึ่งมีกรดผสมอยู่ออกมามาก ทำให้ผิวหนังอักเสบ หรืออาจเกิดจาก เชื้อยีสต์ที่ชื่อ Malassezia ที่เจริญเติบโตอยู่ในต่อมไขมันพร้อมกับแบคทีเรียซึ่งทำให้อาการอักเสบคงทนขึ้น
SD มักพบใน 3 ช่วงอายุ คือ ทารกหลังคลอด วัยรุ่น และวัยสูงอายุ เนื่องจากอาการของ SD คล้ายกับอาการของโรคสะเก็ดเงิน (Psoriasis) การวินิจฉัยจึงต้องใช้ความชำนาญ เป็นพิเศษโดยแพทย์ผู้เชี่ยวชาญเฉพาะทาง อาการของ SD ยังมีความสัมพันธ์กับโรคอื่น ๆ เช่น เอดส์ และการติดเชื้อ Malassezia
การวินิจฉัย แพทย์ผิวหนังจะสอบประวัติการเป็นโรคหอบหืดภูมิแพ้อื่น ๆ ของคนในครอบครัว
การป้องกันและรักษา
- ควรใช้แชมพูที่มีส่วนผสมอย่างใดอย่างหนึ่งของสารเคมีที่ผ่านการรับรองโดย FDA คือ salicylic acid, coal tar, zinc pyrithlone, selenium sulfide, sulfur, azole และ ketoconazole คงามเข้นข้นของยาจะมีผลอย่างมากต่อผลการรักษา ซึ่งจำเป็นต้องให้แพทย์ผิวหนังเป็นผู้สั่ง เพื่อความปลอดภัยในระยะยาว
- ส่วนประกอบในยาสระผม หรือผลิตภัณฑืที่ใช้กับหน้งศีรษะต้องมั่นใจว่ามีความอ่อนโยนสูง ไม่ก่อให้เกิดการระคายเคืองเนื่องจากจะไปกระตุ้นตัวโรคให้แย่ลงได้
- ขณะที่สระผมควรนวดหนังศีรษะตรงบริเวณที่เป็นและทิ้งไว้สักพัก5-10นาที แล้วจึงล้างออก เพื่อทำให้สารซึมซาบลงสู่ผิวหนังและให้ได้ผลดี
